Stella has been part of EWT’s education program since 2016 when she was six. Her father has always been absent, and, when she was three, her mother died of an unknown illness. She and her infant brother then went to live with their elderly grandmother, who also died shortly after their arrival. The young children were left with a well-wishing neighbor who could not care for them properly. Eventually, her aunt took them in, but this, too, was an unstable environment with no permanent home or land.
Stella’s education has been a blessing in her life, but tragedy struck again about a year ago when she was raped by her drunken uncle while home during a break from school. Already an unspeakably traumatic event, this assault left Stella pregnant at just fourteen years old. She missed nearly a year of school carrying the baby, but it arrived premature and died shortly after being born.
Stella is a precious girl who has experienced much pain and loss in her short life, but, despite her suffering, she remains strong and resilient. She is currently reentering school, and she now needs a boarding sponsor to come alongside her education sponsor so she can continue her learning in a safe and stable environment. Your support will be a relief and answer to prayer, and it will also show Stella that she serves a God capable of redeeming even the darkest of circumstances.
