Child Development

 

We are passionate about caring for children and believe that our love for them is a reflection of God's heart. Scripture is filled with passages expressing His great love and concern for the orphaned, vulnerable, and destitute. We count it our greatest privilege to be His love to them.

We care for our children holistically by nurturing their spiritual, physical, and mental growth. Our goal is that they would experience healing and restoration, and would be prepared for lives of service that will exalt Christ in their families, communities, and nation.

We have 3 initiatives in our Child Development Program:

  1. School Sponsorship

Being a school sponsor is an incredible way to change the lives of impoverished children throughout an entire community, and to help their families break the cycle of poverty that has defined them for far too long. It’s a way to create a lighthouse in a community that will bring hope and transformation that will honor Jesus Christ.

While the families of the children at our two village schools pay only a small tuition, it’s a stretch for them. . . and only a fraction of what it costs to provide these children with a good education. That’s where school sponsors come in. . . your gifts will be used to ensure that these children have strong teachers and all the resources and learning materials they need to excel and reach their God-given potential.

We can’t imagine making a better investment than $25/month for the future of these beautiful kids. We can promise that if you do, these children will excel and prove that all they needed was a chance. This is currently our greatest need in child development!

2. Child Sponsorship

We thank God for the impact of child sponsors! Through their support, children are breaking the cycle of poverty that has defined their families for so long. Families are being lifted up and hope is being restored in a way that is having significant impact on communities.

As a child sponsor, you can provide a child with an education or meet their boarding needs at school. But more importantly, you are opening the door of opportunity for a child to hope and dream, and reach their God given potential in life.

Because many of our younger children are now students at our village schools, the majority of our children who need one-on-one sponsorship are now over ten years old. If you would like to love and care for one of these children, we would be so grateful. 3. Jireh Children’s Home

 

There are over two million orphans in Uganda. They are among the most vulnerable people on the planet, knowing nothing but a daily grind of survival.

We opened Jireh Children’s Home at the end of 2010 as an outreach to such children. The children who came into the home were from backgrounds defined by death, pain, abandonment, abuse, poverty, disease, and hopelessness.

But today, they are living proof that love wins out!!! That is why we do what we do . . . we believe the love of Jesus can change anything. His love is doing that in their lives, and we believe there are many more destitute children for us to touch in His name in the days ahead.

We thank God that all of our Jireh Children have education sponsors and that the operational cost of the home is provided for by those who sponsor and participate in our golf tournament every year. However, we are still in need of support for furnishings, clothing, learning materials, and many other things. We would be so grateful for your support of these children.
