Sandra is the fourth in a family of five children, from a region in Northern Uganda that encountered much devastation during the country’s nineteen-year civil war. Though the war is now over, the people still struggle with no infrastructure to care for their basic needs. After Sandra’s father passed away from illness in 2009, her widowed mother left her martial home because it was a place where witchcraft was rampant, and she did not want to expose her children to such practices.
Sandra’s mother has been alone in raising her children, but she looks to God to tend to their daily needs, trusting that He will make a way. Thankfully, one of the blessings He has provided for them was Sandra being chosen for EWT’s sponsorship program in 2013. She has been attending school since, completing her primary education and moving on to secondary school.
As Sandra advances in her education, she needs a second sponsor to help support the additional costs that come with more advanced years of school, such as boarding and higher tuition. She is a bright and humble girl, who hopes to one day be a teacher. Your sponsorship of Sharon will make it possible for her to achieve this dream.
