We are so happy to share with you about our friend, Dilish. She lives deep in the village in the community of Barr. She is married to Okello Charles. They have five biological children and have adopted six more who were orphans. Dilish and Charles have big hearts.

Dilish helps Charles farm their small piece of land, and she also does tailoring to help make ends meet. She has been part of our discipleship program for a number of years. When we recently asked her how studying God’s Word had helped her life, she said, “I grew up in a Christian family but I always felt like I didn’t understand the Bible or how to follow Jesus. The teachings I heard never made sense and I felt like I wasn’t a good Christian.” Dilish knew there was more but she didn’t know what that meant.

Thankfully God gave her the desires of her heart. Dilish heard about one of our discipleship groups that was meeting near her home and she decided to attend. She  began to study and memorize God’s Word each week and see how the stories in the Bible connect. She also began to learn about who God is and what is the purpose of her life. Dillish wants to tell you that studying God’s Word has changed her life and she is now sharing what she has learned with her family and friends.

Dilish thanks God for a deeper intimacy with Him and for the opportunity she has been given to grow in His Word. Life in this world is not easy, but for Dilish, there is peace because she has learned and believes in the promises of God.
